Have you ever designed a great looking brochure that desperately needs a particular picture?  You don’t have to pay a site like iStock photo.

Freedigitalphotos.net is an excellent source for downloading FREE stock photos for corporate or personal use. There is no registration required to download photos; however, there is a small fee for high resolution images. Visitors are encouraged to sign-up and members are given access to lightboxes and can email photos to friends.

One interesting feature about this website is that both amateur and professional photographers are invited to share their pictures through the website. They are given their own portfolio page, so visitors can get to know the person behind the camera. High-resolution versions of their photographs are also available for sale.

Happy downloading!

Don’t need all the bells and whistles of Photoshop, but want to be able to use some of the basic editing and effects tools? Photoshop Express might be your answer. Photoshop Express is aimed not at the professional photographer, but at the casual snapshot fan looking to polish up images before sharing them online at sites like Photobucket, Facebook and Flickr. Photoshop Express has easy-to-use, one-click editing tools.

The service also integrates with a number of photo-sharing websites, enabling you to push and pull photos from Facebook, Flickr, Photobucket and Picasa. Photoshop Express offers 2GB of online storage space and requires Flash Player 9. The interface should be familiar to anyone who’s used Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and offers tools like cropping, red eye correction, sharpening, touchup and more, including a set of advanced effects for changing colors, distorting images and converting photos to black and white and marking them up.

All editing is reversible, meaning you can add and remove changes using the checkboxes beside each tool, which allow you to easily turn edits and effects on and off.

Oddpodz Review: Photoshop express has LOTS of cool features. It is a bit slow to get going, and a bit more complex than the aforementioned Picnik, but it has lots of video tutorials and help to make sure you get the most out of it. Once we got the hang of Photoshop Express, we preferred it to other online editors we’ve tried.
